Retro‐Foredeep Basin Evolution in Taiwan: Zircon U‐Pb and Hf Isotope Constraints From the Coastal Range

چکیده

The evolution of the Taiwan orogen, an active arc–continent collision zone between North Luzon Arc (NLA) and Eurasian continent, is recorded in arc volcanic sedimentary rocks from Taiyuan retro-foredeep basin Coastal Range, eastern Taiwan. volcanism northern NLA experienced a magmatic culmination at 9–7 Ma cessation 5.3–4.3 Ma, based on new U-Pb zircon ages. Young ages (1.74, 1.58, <1.2 Ma) low Hf isotope signatures also indicate that three biotite-bearing lapilli tuff layers deposited are associated with eruptions Lutao volcano southern NLA. terminated progressively ∼5.3 to response southward-propagating followed uplift orogenic wedge by <3 myr. detrital age spectra suggest no significant shift provenance during Plio-Pleistocene period synorogenic sediments Basin were mainly derived Yuli Belt, Miocene accretionary complex orogen. accumulation rate deposits varies 0.53 5.14 km/myr, abrupt increase ∼2 Ma. This higher than previously proposed rates pro-foreland west, suggesting asymmetric rapid

norms and constraints in translating childrens novels from english into persian

abstract foreign and iranian cultures are far distinct in the constraints imposed on writing and translating for children, since the iranian literary system is mainly concerned with cultural and religious instructions which lead to manipulation of translated texts. this study sought to identify the cultural and social constraints and norms which determined the strategies applied in the transl...

Constraints on mountain building in the northeastern Tibet: Detrital zircon records from synorogenic deposits in the Yumen Basin

The Cenozoic basins and ranges form the high topography of the northeastern Tibet that resulted from the India-Eurasia collision. Sedimentary rocks in the basins provide direct insight into the exhumation history of the ranges and the tectonic processes that led to the northeastward growth of the Tibetan Plateau. In this study, we analyzed and compared detrital zircon U-Pb ages from sands of mo...

Constraints on source-forming processes of West Greenland kimberlites inferred from Hf-Nd isotope systematics

Kimberlites from West Greenland have Hf–Nd isotope as well as major and trace element compositions that are similar to other Group I kimberlites, but that are distinctive in the spectrum of magmas sampled at Earth’s surface. The West Greenland kimberlites have eNdi that ranges from +1.6 to +3.1 and eHfi that ranges from 4.3 to +4.9. The samples exhibit ubiquitous negative DeHfi (deviation from ...

Magnitude of crustal extension across the northern Basin and Range province: constraints from paleomagnetism

The magnitude of crustal extension across the northern Basin and Range province is a matter of longstanding controversy; estimates range from 10 to 3009~,. Recently published estimates of extension across the southern Basin and Range province (36°N) are in the range of 80-100%. Thus, the larger values suggested for the northern part of the province (40°N) seem to require substantial countercloc...
